Psychosocial work environment in Norwegian primary healthcare: a cross-sectional survey of leaders’ job satisfaction, work engagement, burnout, and stress.
Kort beskrivelse av prosjektet
This doctoral project is an article-based dissertation. The project focuses on the Norwegian primary healthcare, specifically leaders at various levels. Primary healthcare is increasingly characterized by organizational and structural challenges, including rising demands, pressure to improve efficiency, and a shortage of healthcare personnel. Being a leader in primary healthcare is complex and entails a broad range of responsibilities, including promoting and maintaining a health-promoting work environment.
The psychosocial work environment encompasses processes and working conditions that affect an individual's health and well-being, and is closely linked to outcomes such as sick leave, productivity, patient safety, and service quality. For leaders to facilitate a health-promoting work environment, it is crucial to consider their perceptions of their working conditions.
The background for the project is limited knowledge about how leaders at various levels in primary healthcare perceive their psychosocial work environment. The purpose of the project is to gain greater insight into how leaders at various levels perceive their working conditions and how these perceptions relate to the leaders’ health and well-being.
