Hun vil snakke om hvordan idrettslag kan utvikle trygge miljøer for sportslig utvikling og ung medbestemmelse. Seminaret er gratis og åpent for alle!
Om forelesningen: A Holistic Ecological Approach to Youth Sport Environments: How to explore them and give voice to the adolescents?
In this presentation Line will outline the design of her PhD study, with a focus on how to explore youth sport environments and how to give voice to the young people involved in sports. Recently, athlete development was described as a journey through various sporting and non-sporting environments that support the athlete’s pursuit of career excellence (Henriksen et al., 2023). However, research has only looked at a tiny part of this long journey (the talent development years between the ages of 16 and 20). This calls for attention to the other environments that form part of an athlete’s journey, including the youth sport environments that come before (between ages of 12-16). The PhD study is designed as a case study, but with the ambition to explore younger adolescents’ environments comes unique methodological requirements occurs. These will be discussed.
Om Line:
Line Maj Sternberg is in her first year as a PhD researcher within the research unit of Psychology of Sport, Excellence, and Health at the University of Southern Denmark. Her scholarly pursuits are rooted in the exploration of positive youth sport environments. Her research interests include supporting athletes to thrive, develop and perform, creating the best possible environment for the thlete. In addition to her academic work, Line have been in the field of sport and performance psychology as a consultant to teams and individuals since 2015. This varies from talent development to top athletes. Line Holds a master’s degree in Sport and Health Science. In addition, she is the Danish country representative at the European Network of Young Specialists in Sport Psychology (ENYSSP).
