I am employed as an Associate Professor in Pharmacy.
My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from HiOA/HiNT, a Master’s degree in Health Sciences from NTNU, and a PhD in Professional Practice Studies from Nord University.
I also hold a position as a supervisor at USHT (Development Centre for Nursing Homes and Home Care Services) through a 15% appointment at the Centre for Care Research, Mid-Norway.
I have worked in the bachelor’s programme in Pharmacy since 2003 and have prior experience from community pharmacy. My office is located at the Namsos campus.
I teach the courses Community Pharmacy, Medication Management, Pharmaceutical Technology, The Pharmacist in Society, and Pharmaceutical Practice in the bachelor’s programme in Pharmacy.
My supervisory experience is mainly related to supervising bachelor’s students in pharmacy, but I also have experience supervising master’s theses in the pharmacy programme at NTNU with projects related to community pharmacy. In addition, I am a co-supervisor for two PhD candidates.
I am affiliated with the research group Medicines and Medication Management.
Research interests include medication management, appropriate use of medicines, medicine use in primary healthcare services, community pharmacy, and the history of pharmacy.
I am an active participant in the MedSafe Old project, which is funded by the Research Council of Norway (NFR). In this project, we work on safe medication management for elderly people receiving assistance from home nursing services.
My PhD project focused on decision-making in the administration of “as-needed” (PRN) medication for elderly people living in assisted living facilities.
