I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow in the Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture at Nord University, based in Bodø. My work sits at the intersection of microbiology, virology and genomics, with a focus on the microscopic life of cold environments. Through the EU-funded SNOWGIANTS project, I study the giant viruses associated with the algae that colour Arctic snow, glaciers and high-latitude lakes, and what their hidden genetic legacy can tell us about life in the cryosphere. I work closely with national and international partners across Norway and South Korea, combining fieldwork in polar and alpine sites with molecular and computational analysis in the lab.
