About the lecture:
“Niche topics” such as female bodybuilding has been discussed in different studies and yet it focused on concepts such as doping and modification. On the experience of the presenter, he believes there a perceived difficulty in publications especially about finding the significance and relevance of studies that are not fully explored. The lecture will present first the results of an on-going study about Female bodybuilders. Afterwards, there will be an open discussion on how we early career researchers can navigate on challenges related to research especially on the writing and other related factors.
About Airnel Abarra:
Airnel Abarra is an independent researcher, sport officer, and lecturer at the Ateneo de Davao University and Far Eastern University in the Philippines. Currently, he is completing his PhD in Sport Science at the Doctoral School of Sport Sciences, Hungarian University of Sport Science, Budapest, Hungary. Working on his dissertation on Female Bodybuilders and Identities, his research topics includes sociology of sport, physical culture, and gender studies.
