In this webinar series, the attendees will get detailed information on specific topics in research data management. This is aimed at helping researchers make better use of their time and effort for fulfilling the requirements of major research funders and research-conducting organizations. While Nord University Library provides real-time guidance on these issues at courses, seminars, webinars and one-to-one meetings, being better informed on these topics will make it easier to understand and comply with the requirement of managing data in accordance with the FAIR principles.
Registration deadline 31 October 2025

About the topic (FAIR data)
FAIR is the umbrella principle in research data management. The track record of a researcher for ensuring compliance with the FAIR principles is assessed in grant applications. In addition, this track record is gaining increasing importance in recruitment. Evidently, it is foreseeable that FAIR-compliance will have implications for career progression of young researchers.
NFR and Horizon Europe require all research data to be FAIR in order to maximize the benefits that academia and other sectors can obtain from research work. As a researcher, it is an obligation to make the data FAIR — findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable. This webinar will touch upon the basics of FAIR principles:
- Why FAIR?
- What is FAIR?
- How to make data FAIR?
- Who benefits from FAIR data?
- Making qualitative data FAIR—things to keep in mind
