WORK OVERVIEW

The students will perform a selection of short dramatic pieces that they have created in class workshops during the first few weeks of the autumn semester. The subjects of the pieces have been selected and performed by the students themselves and developed under the guidance of the teachers. This presentation gives them the opportunity to try out their ideas and experimentations with an audience. We very much hope you will join us in supporting the further exploration of this performance research.

3 THEATRICAL FORMS/STYLES

  • TRIOS/QUARTETS - Short theatre pieces devised and performed by 3 or 4 actors, integrating acting, narration and music. This form explores the simplest, most intimate form of dramatic storytelling.

  • PHYSICAL STORYTELLING - Popular big-budget films are reinterpreted and transposed for the stage using nothing but the actor's body. The students create and perform a short adaptation of a cinematic story pushing the expressive limitations of movement, gesture and play.

  • COMPANY DRAMA - The students work in a large ensemble to reinterpret and transpose dramatic stories into visually dynamic performances.
