Research seminar: Mastering Peer Review

Research seminar: Mastering Peer Review
The Division of Organization, Management and Working Life will host a research seminar together with RESPONSE (Research Group for Sport and Society).

Whether you are an early-career researcher preparing to review your first manuscript, or an expert, it is important to understand your role as a reviewer and ensure you provide constructive feedback to authors by crafting a respectful and helpful review. If you would like to develop your reviewing skills, then this interactive seminar is for you. The aim of the seminar is to share knowledge and experiences of good and bad reviewing practices, as well as introduce researchers to the fundamentals of scholarly peer review (the dos and don’ts of journal reviewing). The seminar is open to all staff members of FSV, from PhD candidates to professors.

To participate in the seminar, please send a one-page document including the following points to Mikhail Kosmynin (mikhail.kosmynin@nord.no) and Anne Tjønndal (anne.tjonndal@nord.no):

  1. Your expertise and experience with reviewing
(subject fields, methodology, experience with publishing, editorial work and/or peer review)
  2. Your current writing projects
(papers/articles/chapters you are currently working on, their progress)
  3. Your wishes for the seminar
(topics, modes of working and ideas you would like us to include in the seminar)
    Participants must have either:
    1) A manuscript they are tasked with reviewing for an international journal, or
    2) A writing project that they can share with a fellow participant for review comments to facilitate
    peer-learning in pairs/groups.

Deadline to sign up for the seminar: 19th of August.

We are looking forward to an engaging and thought-provoking event.
