Students admitted to study at the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences who undertake supervised professional training shall sign a non-disclosure agreement. The requirement for students to sign a non-disclosure agreement is stipulated in Section 4-6 of the Norwegian Act relating to Universities and University Colleges. Non-disclosure agreements are signed in Studentweb.
Information subject to confidentiality:
Personal relationships, including information about people's medical conditions or any other personal matters that come to the attention of students while undergoing supervised professional training or working as a member of the health staff.
I understand:
- That, while studying, during tuition, undergoing supervised professional training and working, I can and will acquire knowledge about and gain access to information which must not be passed on to unauthorised persons.
- That breaches of confidentiality could result in exclusion from clinical studies and loss of the right to sit examinations in such studies at Norwegian universities and university colleges for up to three years.
- That breaches of confidentiality could result in fines or prison sentences.
- That this duty of confidentiality will continue to apply after I have concluded my studies at Nord University.
- That it is forbidden to unlawfully acquire information that is subject to confidentially.
- That the legislation and rules referred to in the appendices to this non-disclosure agreement do not exhaustively regulate my duty of confidentiality.

The following regulations/clauses deal with non-disclosure agreements and breaches of such:
- Students and their duty of confidentiality, the Norwegian Act relating to Universities and University Colleges
- Health personnel and their duty of confidentiality, the Norwegian Health Personnel Act
- Specialist healthcare professionals and their duty of confidentiality, the Norwegian Specialised Health Services Act
- Exclusion and expulsion, the Norwegian Act relating to Universities and University Colleges
- Breaches of confidentiality, the Norwegian Penal Code
- Gross breaches of confidentiality, the Norwegian Penal Code
Suitability shall be assessed throughout the study period and shall reveal whether or not a student has the necessary prerequisites for being able to engage in his/her profession, cf. The Regulations on Suitability Assessments in Higher Education.
